OK Fifth, but I still think Carlton endangered Baines, like Adrian endangered Vardy, but I think neither meant any harm in any way and were both only going for the ball.

Spily milk now, though, so I'll stop crying.

I prefer Adrian to Green as a 'fan' i.e. for his passion and entertainment levels... but Green is better than Adrian as a keeper in my eyes.

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
Green can do one

Thought he was better then the club and chased a pound note.

2 relegation's later and he wants to come back. Fcuk him.

If Randolph can't stand in for 3 games then why the bloody hell did we sign him ?

If true i would be worried if i was Adrian.

Green is better than him.

BB - It's looking like the Green0 story does has some legs, just waiting for QPR to get their new keeper over the line then they release Green to us.

Not surprising and a correct decision IMHO. More worryingly is the fact we seem to have a No:2 that no-one trusts. That's really concerning.

In the written guidance issued to referees in relation to "serious foul play" it states that serious foul play involves "excessive force" and "endangers an opponent".

In my opinion based on my training as a ref, the Carlton one did not have enough force to meet that criteria but the Adrian one clearly did (for reasons I stated in my last post).

At the time on WHO I said I thought Carlton's red would get cancelled by the appeal panel which it did and I also said on here that the Adrian one would not be cancelled by the panel as it clearly did endanger the opponent.

I hope that helps.

Both were cases where a boots were raised, and studs hit the torso quite solidly; yes, Adrian's boot more solidly, but are you saying that the subtle differance you described (about the direction of the boots movement when it hits the torso) is actually mentioned in the rule-book?

I'd love a link to that rule if you can provide it. You're a ref, so you should be able to find that one.

Carlton's foot when it made contact was in a downward motion against the opponent's side.

Adrian's lunge had more force with his studs coming horizontally into the opponent's body.

That's the difference.

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
Have the rules changed since Carlton had his red (from the same ref v Everton) downgraded?

Exactly the same thing happened, but the panel let him off as his eyes were on the ball all the time.

Yellow for dangerous play, but not serious foul play or violent conduct, so shouldn't be red.

That's my opinion providing the rules haven't changed since Cole's incident.

I'm right behind Randolph on this one.

He's no mug, this will be his chance to nail down the no.1 spot, good luck to him!

Looks like Henri Lansbury will be moving from Forest soon, maybe we should sign him and put him between the sticks ;)

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
You get an automatic 3 match ban for serious foul play. Nothing to do with our appeal.

mallard 12:17 Wed Aug 19
Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
So does that mean he would have got less of a ban if we didn't appeal ?

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
This should have never been a problem every team in the prem must have two solid Goal keepers.

Why do we have one good one ok keeper ?
